This is a shot of a Great Lakes freighter (sometimes referred to as a Hamilton cruise ship) passing in front of the Toronto skyline.  It was taken from 65 km away on the south side of Lake Ontario with an iPhone attached to a spotting scope.

Plenty of lemons in this lemon tree, brightly lit by a warm, morning sun.

This is another shot of the spectacular Le Meridien resort in Bora Bora.  Bucket list place? You bet!

Have selected this peaceful scene as ‘picture of the day’ as the weather today is miserable with high winds kicking up waves on Lake Ontario.

Much larger than you can tell from this vantage point, Speyer Cathedral in Germany was founded in the year 1030 and consecrated in 1061.  It is officially known as the Imperial Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption and St Stephen. It is a short walk from the Rhine River and is a beautiful subject for photographers on Rhine River cruises.

It was a warm evening yesterday and the sunset over Lake Ontario was a beauty.  

This lovely outhouse, complete with half moon on the door, is in Westfield Heritage Village in Dundas, Canada.

Plenty of fireworks being set off last night to celebrate Victoria Day. 

Saw this old water pump while walking through Westfield Heritage Village last weekend.  The Distressed FX app added some colour and texture to the shot.

The lake pitches plenty of driftwood up on the rocks, though much less this year since the water level is significantly lower than prior years.

This covered bridge is in the older section at Westfield Heritage Village.  Had to edit out a tree in the middle of the bridge opening and added some colour with the Distressed FX app.

It’s becoming more difficult to catch a good sunrise shot as the sun is getting up earlier every day.  This photo is good but I may have missed an even better shot if I had been up at 5:30.  

Downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake always has the most stunning floral displays.  This tulip is but one of millions of flowers on display the day we walked down Queen Street.  

While on a hike through the Royal Botanical Gardens, I saw this fellow meditating.  I wonder what he was thinking about.

Enjoying an ice cream on a sunny afternoon yesterday and found this tired (retired!) Pepsi dispenser behind the restaurant.  It didn’t need much help from the DistressedFX editing app to show its condition.

This fellow posed nicely for me as I was walking along the path at Ellen Browning Scripps Park in La Jolla, California.

The Temple of Zeus was built in fifth century BC and housed the renowned statue of Zeus.  Destroyed by earthquakes in AD 522 and AD 551, the temple remains are worth a look when visiting Athens, Greece. Maybe when this COVID lockdown is over we can all  do the happy dance like this fellow who seems to be enjoying the sunset over Lake Ontario.

Saw this door at Ball’s Falls Conservation Area and it looked like it wanted to be photographed.  So I obliged.

A few months ago, the monthly photo assignment from the Grimsby Photo Group was on curves.  This young lady on Saltspring Island in British Columbia kindly agreed to let me take photos of her curvy lashes. I’m the guy in the yellow golf shirt reflected while I was taking the shot.

Hopefully when it warms up a bit, we’ll see these fellows by the lake again.  

This photo was taken out of the car window on a road trip.  Location was Estancia, New Mexico, just south of Moriarity.  I thought the photo looked best if adjusted to look dated by applying a sepia and a bit of distress.

Not being an expert in birds in any way, I thought this was a hawk flying over Beamer Conservation Area.  I’ve been told, however, that it is a turkey vulture.  Maybe so, but it doesn’t look much like a turkey or a vulture.  Anyway, I stand corrected.

Won’t be too much longer before we see paddle boards and other watercraft on the lake.  Not sure who this couple is, but they looked good taking advantage of a pleasant evening on Lake Ontario.
