Calm Water Sunrise

Image
From mid September a couple of peaceful sunrise shots.

Solitary

Image
Saw this shot while out walking near Beamer's Falls.  It was a great day for boundless fall colours everywhere, but I also like how more negative space in your photos can put more emphasis on a single subject.

Angry Morning Sky

Image
The dark clouds in this sunrise give an angry look to the morning sky.

Sailing Past Toronto

Image
Here is a photo of a sailboat on Lake Ontario with the Toronto skyline in the background, edited with the Prisma app (Education setting).  The picture was taken from the south side of Lake Ontario looking north.

Red Sea?

Image
Not the Red Sea, but rather a red sunrise morning looking out onto Lake Ontario.

Water Hoverboard

Image
This fellow was having fun flying across the lake on his water hoverboard.  I had fun with the Prisma app and MirrorArt app making these creations.

Farm Rainbow

Image
This intense rainbow stayed in place for more than half an hour and demanded that I stop the car and take its picture.  OK, rainbow.

Late Summer Sunrise

Image
This capture is just before sunrise in late August.  From this angle, the sunrise moves from left to right over the summer.  the colours are most often much better just before sunrise.  I like to include sky and Lake Ontario in the photo as well as a bit of land to 'ground' the shot.

Creative Exchange - Dance Edition

Image
Sunday was a Fun Day  @StudioOneElevenBrantford  as 7 photographers paired up with 7 incredible dancers for a "Creative Exchange - Dance Edition", the first in a series of photoshoots at this exciting new studio. I took about 400 shots in a couple of hours working with these talented models/dancers. Here are a few of my favourite captures.  #jo_dance5678   #taylorbelfry   #jorjabrown .dance  #fourlensdotca   #StudioOneElevenCreativeExchange

Ball Hawk

Image
This fine, feathered fellow was guarding the second hole at Oak Gables Golf Course in Ancaster Ontario.  Hey, ball hawk: "Did you see where my ball went?"

Moody Sunset

Image
The sky looks a tad ominous in this sunset over Lake Ontario from August.

Blue Sailing

Image
This blue sailboat happened to pass by on a day where Lake Ontario was particularly blue.

Busy Bee

Image
This photo of a bee hard at worked was edited in the MirrorArt app to add in the pretending magnifying glass.

Pastel Sunrise

Image
Orange clouds and a pastel sky highlight this shot just before sunrise.

Spectacular Colours

Image
If only my golf game yesterday was as spectacular as the fall colours on the golf course! (It wasn't)

Darkened Sunset

Image
From late August, the sky is somewhat gloomy as the sun is setting in the left of this shot.

Fall Colours

Image
This shot of fall colours in Stoney Creek Ontario was selected to appear on the local TV news during their weather segment.  It is a shot of the changing colours on the Niagara escarpment.

Flint Corn

Image
According to Wikipedia, Flint corn (also known as Indian corn or calico corn) is a variant of maize, the same species as common corn.  Each kernel has a hard outer layer, likened to being as hard as flint; hence the name flint corn.

Niagara Falls Looking Down and Up

Image
These two shots were taken on the same day, one from a nearby observation tower looking down and the other from the bow of the "Hornblower" looking up.

Red Sunrise

Image
Sunrises over Lake Ontario typically come in various shades of orange.  Here is a red one from mid-August.

Porcupine Tree (not the band)

Image
While sitting inside a friend's cottage discussing an English rock band with the strange name "Porcupine Tree", there was a visiting rodent in the bushes outside.  On closer look it was a chubby, spikey porcupine.  Shy from the camera, I suppose, he hauled himself rather quickly up a nearby tree and sat on this branch exhausted from his climb.

Pink Prisma Lily

Image
This photo of a water lily was taken outside the front of the main theatre in Stratford Ontario.  The Prisma app was used to give a more painterly look to the photo.

After the Storm

Image
Here is a full arc rainbow taken earlier this summer.
