 This may look like a scary tree on a Halloween night but it is really a daytime photo edited to look like night. 

 I don’t know what kind of bird this is but he had better be careful sitting amid the sharp thorns of the cholla cactus!

In the late afternoon on our street, the neighbours say “when the mountains turn pink, it’s time to drink”.  A short time later, the sun has set further and we get “when the mountains turn blue, it’s time for two”.  This photo was taken as the Catalina Mountains were turning pink.  The purple haze in the sky was added with the iColorama app.

 Out for a cycle yesterday in Oro Valley and my wife stopped the tour to show me what she was seeing in her bike mirror.

 This little house gecko appears to be showing off his or her nails. 

 Some dramatic orange clouds frame the silhouetted cactus in this Arizona sunset.

 Admittedly not as impressive as any famous waterfalls, this waterfall is on an Arizona golf course and I liked the fountain in the background.

Cycling yesterday on one of the local bike trails and my wife wanted to see a black and white photo with highlight of her purple bike.  Easy to do with the Color Accent app.

 The rising sun made for some nice colours as this photo was taken using the Macro setting on the Camera+ 2 iPhone app. Good morning, praying mantis.

 These flowers wanted to be photographed and the addition of saguaro cacti against the blue sky made for a colourful composition.  

 This photo was taken with the Photo Booth app for submission into our photography club’s monthly challenge, the most recent assignment being “Seeing Eye to Eye”.

 Here is a beautiful orange Arizona sunset with a small contribution from the LensLight app.

 This beautiful view of the garden, golf course, and mountains is Hole #9 at the Highlands at Dove Mountain.  The mountain range in the distance is the Tucson Mountain range.

 This photo is taken from the south side of Lake Ontario across from Toronto whose skyline is on the horizon at the right. The iColorama app was used to convert to black and white and give a more painterly type look.

 Kind of a purple morning when the sun popped up over the horizon level clouds where it had been hiding.

 This is a macro shot of a ladybug that I took for our photo club’s monthly assignment on eyes.  

 On this morning, there were some interesting colours in the predawn  sky and strange, dark clouds that looked like huge insect swarms.

 This fountain is a pleasant feature of downtown Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada.  No edits needed other than minor removal of a distracting bus parked on the other side of the fountain.

 Loving the orange sky sunsets over Lake Ontario. Someone asked if I use orange filters when I take these type of photos.  Nope.

 This view is on the pier at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington Ontario Canada. Opened in 2013, the pier extends 137 metres over Lake Ontario.

 This angel with the lantern is keeping an eye on the flowers in the garden.  Shot using portrait model on the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

 Breaks in the clouds offered plenty of sunbeams over the lake that morning.  In this photo the sunbeam was augmented with the LensFlare app.

 I shot (with the camera) this little fellow in a friend’s backyard in B.C. where the deer come every day for an afternoon snack.

 This is in a blown glass exhibition in Phoenix by the master Dale Chihuly.

 This is the same original photo as yesterday’s but the sky was changed and happy little dude added, both with the SkyLab app.  It is an experiment to see if these changes result in significantly more attention on Instagram than the original pic,

 The contrails and clouds along with the glow on the lake made for an interesting sunrise in this shot taken a couple of weeks ago.

 This is one of the amazing views in Mount Maxwell Provincial Park in beautiful British Columbia. No edits other than cropping.

 Here comes fall in Canada!  The trees are changing colours and that makes for some good photo opportunities.

 The colour green is the grass was removed using the Color Accent app to better show off the lovely colours in the running shoes.

 Different people seek quiet time in different places and ways. This swimmer enjoys the solitude of being alone in her own pool.  No edits to the original photo other than cropping out distracting elements.

 This is the last in the series of orange sky pictures taken in Honey Harbour, Ontario.  In this one, the road takes the viewers eye from the bottom of the picture toward the lonely tree silhouetted against the morning sky.
