Less is Minimalist

Image
Playing with some minimalist black and white images, rendered by Midjourney AI.

Winter Scene

Image
This lovely view of winter was produced by Midjourney AI.  It took a bit of fiddling to get the artwork on the mug, but I was finally able to coax Midjourney into doing it.

Girl and Balloon

Image
Still learning the basics of generating AI artwork using Midjourney, this image was inspired by an article I read this morning about different settings.

More Jag

Image
Here’s another 1972 yellow jag image for my friend, Jim.  He has the real deal and I have the AI image generated by Midjourney.

Old Fella

Image
I really like the lighting that Midjourney AI used on this portrait of an old renaissance guy with a beard.

Wine by the Firepit

Image
This ai-generated art was inspired by a 'real' photograph imagined and shot on his camera by my good friend, Raymond.  I took Ray's idea and asked Midjourney AI what it could do.

A Little Smile

Image
With the sad announcement this morning of a very dear friend's passing, I thought a smile would come in handy.  This street scene of the little boy chasing the balloon was rendered by Midjourney AI.

Watercolour Tucson

Image
As a change of pace, today's AI image is a colourful view of a home in Tucson, done in watercolour and ink.  I love the various types of cacti that Midjourney included in this artwork.

Everyday Wired

Image
Sometimes, for fun, I toss a song title or lyric over to Midjourney to see what kind of image it may render. This totally wired lady was produced by a prompt that used a Sly & the Family Stone song lyric, "I am everyday people".

Freezing the Action

Image
In the style of high-speed photography, these images, rendered by Midhourney AI, freeze the action in time.  Things that take effort with a camera or iPhone are significantly easier to simulate in AI-generated artwork / images.

Navajo Nation

Image
A few years ago, I happened to be in Monument Valley where my wife and I were led on a very interesting tour by an elderly Navajo guide.  I asked Midjourney AI could render similar images and here are two that were produced.

Moon Music

Image
One of my favourite images generated by Midjourney AI was a realistic view of a piano out of place in a forest.  That led me to wonder where else the 'wandering piano' could go.  How about the surface of the moon, for example?

Orange Filter

Image
Midjourney AI does an exceptionally good job at rendering artwork of female models.  In these two shots, I have asked for an orange filter to be applied.

A Rose is a Rose

Image
From Midjourney AI, this is a bunch of colours spraying around the canvas in the shape of a rose.  Why did I ask the AI engine to produce this?  Why not?

Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay

Image
Sometimes when I am playing with Midjourney AI to generate images, I craft detailed prompts.  Other times, I will keep it simple and maybe just use a song title or lyric.  I asked Midjourney to show me "Sitting on the dock of the bay" and here is what it produced.

Double Exposure Watercolour

Image
I'm trying to learn more types of AI generated styles and this image from Midjourney combines a double exposure (lion and trees) with a watercolour style.  It really does remind me of when I was on safari in Tanzania and Kenya.

Wandering Piano

Image
This is one of my favourite Midjourney AI images (so far).  It is a grand piano out of place in a forest.  How did it get there and why?  I may do some more images with out of place items, maybe even more out of place pianos.

AI Impact on Jobs

Image
We were sitting around the firepit with some good friends the other night and musing about A.I. impact on various jobs.  One of the interesting careers we talked about was 'car designer'.  So... while we were sitting around the firepit, I asked Midjourney AI to render me some futuristic car models.  Here is an example of the results.  Will A.I. eventually replace the car designer or inspire the care designer?

Yorkie

Image
Gracie, beloved Yorkshire Terrier of my good friend, Jim, passed away.  In honour of Gracie, here is a rendition of a Yorkie done by Midjourney AI.

Paper Quilling

Image
I have never even heard of 'paper quilling', but apparently the Midjourney AI tool has.  According to Google, "Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs".  So now I know.    In this image, I asked Midjourney to show me a quilling of a woman with an ocean flow.  I don't know if it is a true paper quilling but I do like the resulting image.

Coffee Time

Image
When using an AI image generator like Midjourney, it is not as simple as typing in 'give me a photo of a latte in a coffee shop'.  You actually have to coax the tool into producing the image you have in mind.  This image, for example, took many attempts with major and minor iterations of the prompt to get the result that I was trying to achieve.  My biggest focus, now, with AI image generation is photo realism.  I think the end result hit the mark.  And now I will take a well-deserved coffee break!

Colourful

Image
I've never heard of 'colour blocking' but Midjourney AI has.  This is an image of a model in a colour blocking dress on a colour blocking background.  It's amazing how photorealistic some of the generated images can be.
