 Welcome to a bright new day! This was the sunrise last Saturday.  The LensFlare app was used to add a bit of extra lighting.

 It was a beautiful day for this niece and nephew to go fishing with their uncle on Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada.

 While out walking yesterday morning, we saw this nasty looking fellow on his web on the side of a bridge.  Too ugly to post as it was, I used the mosaic filter in the Prisma app to give him a more artsy look.

 Nothing fancy in this shot, just a big rock on Port Severn Beach that made for a nice foreground.

 This photo is a scan from an old slide taken years ago  at the Serengeti National Park in Africa.  The Dramatic B&W app has been used to convert to black & white, and to put the spotlight on the subject wildebeest.

 Looking out from beneath the castle in Greencastle, located in the north of the Inishowen Peninsula on the north coast of County Donegal, Ireland.  The castle, originally built by the Anglo-Normans in 1305, may have derived its name from the green freestone with which it was built. The castle is also known as Northburgh Castle. The mysterious lady looking out was added to the original photo using the SuperimposeX app.

 This is an orange sunrise over Lake Ontario taken last week. You have to get up early to get a shot like this!

 This young fellow seems to be enjoying himself trolling for fish in Georgian Bay.  Only major edit to the photo was conversion to black and white which allows the viewers’ eyes to more easily focus on the subject.

 Out for a walk early this morning and I noticed these backlit flowers. Minimal edits were needed to enhance the shot.

 This early morning pic, edited to black and white, was taken on the side of a bridge in Honey Harbour, Ontario.

 The ancient Greek temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion was built during 444-440 BC.  It is outside Athens, on a hill 60 metres above the sea. Ancient Greeks, especially seamen, believed storms were signs of Poseidon’s wrath.  This temple became a place where people could offer animal sacrifices and other gifts to appease him.

 This pic of a grazing wildebeest was taken on photo safari in east Africa and edited into an art look using the Prisma app.

 This photo was taken for submission into a ‘shapes’ assignment from the Grimsby Photography Group.  The setup required a bead of glue on domino #2 so that the first one could lean.  The numbers on the first one are a subtle tribute to an English domino game called “fives and threes”.

  This sunrise was taken during an early morning fishing trip on Georgian Bay. Minimal edits to the photo were needed.

 This lily pad flower was beautiful when picked. In this shot it is photographed on the hood of a car, then edited with Retouch to remove blemishes and the Prisma app to give it more of an art look.

 No idea what these beautiful flowers are, but had to stop for a photo while visiting Butchart Gardens in British Columbia.

 This young lady found a quiet spot lakeside to do her morning emails, etc.

 This photo fits ok on this blog, but on Instagram, this shot is way too tall.  Picture was taken on photo safari in east Africa.

 These fellows are resting in the Ngorogoro Crater while their ladies are out hunting.

 Moonrise outside a cottage at Honey Harbour.  Some texture was added to the photo using the Mextures app.

 For photo safaris in Africa, the Cape Buffalo is one of the most feared animals (sorry, lion and leopard).  This guy’s eyesight is not great and, when he is angry,  he will do a direct charge at a vehicle!

 Can’t get enough of these beautiful orange sunrises over Lake Ontario.

 This shot is from the Raptor Show at the Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson.

 Admittedly, this bright mid afternoon photo of a kayaking couple has been post processed to give a dusk look, add a moon, put a light in the lighthouse and add a reflection.

 This baby heron is well-hidden in the trees on the shore at Jordan Harbour.

 In and around Tucson Arizona are hundreds of miles of paved bike paths.  There are many places to stop for a rest and view mountains or streams.

 The painterly setting in the iColorama app was used to give this tranquil lakeside scene more of a painted look.

 The Color Accent app was used to highlight the red in this photo of the old phone box, then the DistressedFX app was used to give it an older feel.

 This is a shadow of our hot air balloon as the sun rises in Sedona, Arizona.

 This surfboard inspired artwork is near the ocean in the town of Imperial Beach, California, near San Diego.
