Dale Chihuly is an amazing glass blowing artist whose creations are on display in Phoenix. He created this piece, Desert Fiori, in 2021. It is the size of a large garden and the colours are stunning.
These big birds at the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch in Arizona are always looking for a treat. It’s ok to feed them but don’t get too close as they can be rough!
At Papago Park in Phoenix Arizona is an interesting hole in the rock. I was up there earlier this month and saw this lady having a rest in the hole. Not sure if she was taking a selfie, taking photos, or looking at emails. But she seemed comfortable in her perch surrounded by rock.
This stunning piece of blown glass art is called Neodymium Reeds. It was created in 2021 by artist Dale Chihuly and is on display at the Chihuly in the Desert exhibition in Phoenix.
Among the many birds and animals you can hand feed at Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch are these lovely Lorikeets. The ranch is located in Picacho, Arizona.
There are between 2500 and 3500 mountain lions in Arizona. They weigh between 70 and 150 pounds. They can jump 20 feet vertically and 40 feet horizontally in a single leap. This good sized lion lives at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum where they have taken care to ensure he doesn’t leap out!
This spectacular piece of art by blown glass artist Dale Chihuly is titled “Fiori Boat”. It was created in 2018 and features some amazing colours of glass in a wooden boat. It is currently on display at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix.
I happened upon this pretty young lady dressed in red and had to take a photo. The Retouch app was used to remove other things in the photo and the Color Accent app was used to highlight the lovely outfit.
This old fella named Wyatt Earp may be found in Arizona at Rooster Cogburn’s Ostrich Ranch. He is one of many African turtles that came from rescues, and he loves to be hand fed asparagus for breakfast.
This photo of a little fishing boat, the Mapaki, was taken while on vacation in Greece. Using the Color Acent app to highlight the two main colours in the boat uncovered similar colours in the clothing of the people in the background.

Take one swimming pool, add a young lady with long hair and set your camera on burst. That’s all you need for this shot which was the best of 200 photos taken by the iPhone in burst mode over the few seconds of hair flicking.

While on a tour in Monument Valley, our Navajo guide took us to some ‘off the beaten tourist path’ places. This formation, he told us, is called “Eagle’s Eye”.
Santorini Greece is so very picturesque with its white buildings and blue domed church roofs. Any other colour in this photo was removed with the Photo Accent app so as to highlight the string of blue domes.
This lovely yellow Jaguar was at a recent vintage auto show in Marana Arizona. The big surprise with this beauty is under the hood where there is a Cobra engine!
This is the Snowbowl ski resort in Sedona Arizona. The photo was taken at 11,500 feet up Agassiz Peak. The Color Accent app was used to eliminate all colours except for the beautiful blue sky.
This Navajo tour guide is a retired high school teacher who leads small group tours through Monument Valley where he includes Navajo culture and history in his tour. The Prisma app was used to give the original photo a more artsy look.
